I was on a tight budget for our wedding, so when it came to hair and makeup, I wanted to find someone who was affordable and could do both hair and the makeup. I lucked out when I found Eden on Yelp. I did not do a trial of hair or makeup (I was a pretty laid back bride) so I sent her a few photos for inspiration. On the day of the wedding, Eden came to the hotel and in 2 1/2 hours, did my hair and makeup, my mom’s makeup, and a bridesmaid’s hair. We all looked great and got exactly what we wanted. Did I mention Eden uses cruelty-free products AND has a great personality? It was a win, win situation and I looked great all night long! Thanks Eden!

Aside from being great stocking stuffers, these products are a great buy and some of them are absolute staples in my natural and cruelty free beauty practice! Right now my favorites are Alteya’s Organic Rose Water Toning Mist (great for toning skin after cleansing, before makeup, or to refresh dry or stressed skin) and John Masters Organics Vitamin C Serum which I recommend for evening skin tone and brightening the complexion by encouraging cellular turnover.

TERMS:
Your wedding day is one of the most memorable and important days of your life, and should be enjoyable and stress free. The easiest way to accomplish this is to be prepared! Trials for hair and make up are strongly suggested before signing a contract. 
If you wish to book a trial, please:
1. Plan on spending 2.5 for hair & make up.
2. Bring pictures of any styles in particular you might have in mind or looks that inspire you.
3. Also bring any headpieces/veils, etc. is necessary in order to see the overall finished picture of your look & plan for important elements like volume and placement of hair in order to anchor veils and tiaras.
4. Trials can be done at your home or at the stylist’s studio located in LIC/Astoria (accessible by the N/Q/R trains, as well as the M60 bus from the upper west side).

Fee for pre-event hair trials is $85 per person, and is limited to 2 styles/looks, pre-event make up trials are $75 Combined hair/make up trials are $125. Hair should be clean before arrival, minimal or no make up preferred.

THE CONTRACT will be signed by the person booking services for a particular session, and will specify the location, date, time, number of persons receiving makeup service, and what time each person will have reserved. If services for more than one person are being booked, all deposits must be paid at the time of contract signing to guarantee each reservation.
For large parties requiring both hair and make up services, an additional pre-screened Stylist/Artist/Assistant will be included in the contract to ensure expedient and exceptional service. Due to the possibility of schedule conflicts, additional makeup & hair services added after contract signing or changes made to the location, date, and time of event will be done at the sole discretion of Eden Di Bianco Hair & Makeup & its appropriate acting agents (EDHM/Chrissie Eden Di Bianco).

Changes to the terms in this agreement on day or event/without prior notice may result in an increase of rate.
This contract is the only agreement between the person(s) booking / contracting the services of EDHM [hereafter referred to as Client(s)] and Artist/EDHM/Chrissie Eden Di Bianco.

BOOKINGS: To secure a date, a signed contract is required w/ a 50% deposit due at the time of signing. The deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable. Please be advised, dates and scheduled makeup times will only be reserved when a signed contract and deposit are received. Deposits can be made using cash, checks or a major credit card. All payments will receive a receipt.

BOOKING TIMES: Contract will contain a start time and end time initialed and approved by client. Each makeup requires a certain length of time to be finished and is not to exceed time limit. When reserving your date, book accordingly. Any additional makeup needs outside contract will only be performed at the discretion of the makeup artist. All persons involved in makeup appointments need to be available at the scheduled time of said appointment in order to not break the contract. All services for multiple persons must take place at the same location (wedding hall, hotel, home, etc) and consecutive in time with no gaps in between unless specifically agreed to by the Artist. Any transportation required between locations is the sole responsibility of the Client to provide, and Artist is not held liable for any delays in service caused by travel to multiple locations.

On average, make-up applications take 30-45 minutes, and hairstyling requires about an hour, depending on factors such as the complexity of the style, any blow drying or curling necessary, addition of extensions, etc. Large parties with early Ceremony times will require an early start time in order to ensure everyone is ready on schedule. An assistant or second artist may be required.

RETURNED CHECK: If any check is returned by the bank for non-sufficient funds (NSF), a $45 fee will be charged on top of bank fees and 100% of all fees contracted for will be due payable by cash or money order minimum of 3 days in advance of the service date to keep booked reservation. Any booking made under such circumstances, (NSF) without subsequent advanced payment in full for services is subject to cancellation and any deposits paid will be forfeited.

SERVICE LOCATION & REQUIREMENTS: Location of service for the day-of-event will be at the discretion of the Client, but there are certain requirements the makeup artist needs to complete the beauty services for the best result. A “set up” consisting of an available table/work area with working electrical outlets must be made available for the artist at said location. Ample lighting, whether by means of natural light or by lamps, is necessary for makeup services to be performed properly. A barstool / high chair is requested; please have your on site coordinator make one available if possible.

HAIR STYLING: Hair that is to be put into an up-do day of event must be CLEAN and DRY. Thermal irons and product cannot be used on wet or damp hair. If you know a blow dry will be necessary, please arrange for one the day before or let the Stylist know @ least 3 days in advance so that extra time may be allotted for the service on the day of. When presented with wet hair without previous notice to allow time for a blow dry and/or flat ironing service, EDHM & its agents reserve the right to perform them at their discretion in the interest of time constraints, and to charge an additional $50 for each of these services.

Addition of any clip in extensions, falls, etc should be discussed with Stylist in advance. Custom, high quality human hair extensions (clip in, bead, or keratin bond) are also available, please request a consultation. Chrissie Eden Di Bianco is a Cosmetologist who has completed 1,000 hours of instruction in beauty practices, safety & sanitation, and procedure at an accredited institution of learning as required by NYS, and is trained to provide hair color, highlights, cuts, straightening treatments, and extensions. All additional services are to be discussed and preformed before Event Date.

TRAVEL FEE: EDHM is based in NYC, and is happy to accommodate travel within the 5 boros, as well as parts of Long Island, Westchester, and beyond! Additional travel fees apply, and are based on approximate travel time & distance as well as other reasonable fees such as the cost of train tickets and/or taxis/car service. These fees will be agreed upon by both parties before the contract is signed. There is no travel fee for locations in Western Queens (Astoria, LIC, Sunnyside, Woodhaven, Elmhurst).
A mileage/travel fee will be charged for locations outside of a reasonable commute by mass transit/taxi with all necessary materials in tow from Astoria, NY, (11105) or Manhattan. The amount of said travel fee will be determined at time of inquiry based on approximate time commitment required for travel to/from event location. Travel fee will be marked on final invoice.
Stylist makes all reasonable efforts to arrive at the agreed upon location, but cannot be held responsible for road closures or unforeseen changes in mass or private transit due to strike, accident, weather, or other circumstance beyond reasonable control.
EARLY CALL TIME FEE: A $25 fee will be charged for booked appointment times before 8:00 a.m.

TOUCH UPS: After the ceremony, the Artist is available to stay for touch ups during photos at a rate of $55 per hour.

PAYMENT: The final balance is due on the day of the event as one payment – no exceptions, please. The person(s) responsible for the entire balance of payment is the person(s) who has signed the booking contract, and should have all monies prepared for the Artist on the day of service. Acceptable forms of payment are: cash, cashier’s check or money order made payable to C. Eden Di Bianco.

CANCELLATION: All deposit monies paid by Client will be refunded if contract is cancelled within five (5) days of contract signing. After the five day grace period, should a client cancel the booked event or any service on a contract, will not be refunded or transferred. If EDHM cancels at any time or is fails to perform the contracted duties for any reason or provide a replacement, 100% of the deposit paid will be refunded by check within two (2) weeks. Client agrees that the refund of 100% of the deposit is the only liability to EDHM/Chrissie Eden Di Bianco and employees & agents.

LIABILITY/Allergies: All brushes and makeup products are kept sanitary and are sanitized between every makeup application in accordance with industry standards. Any existing skin conditions should be reported by the Client to the makeup artist prior to application and, if need be, a sample test of makeup may be performed on the skin to test for averse reaction. Client(s) agree to release the Artist, EDHM/Chrissie Eden Di Bianco, and all employees & agents from liability for any complications due to allergic reactions.

Clients under the care of a dermatologist or who use Rx dermatological drugs, those with existing skin conditions such as rosacea or known sensitivities to sunscreen or other cosmetic additives or ingredients are welcomed & encouraged to provide their own foundation of choice if they have a specific brand/formula they use to ensure maximum comfort.

From the beginning she was very friendly and came well prepared. She has all the tools and makeup you can think of. She gave me the look I wanted and was sensitive to all my requests. She was affordable and helped me stay within my budget. The day of the wedding,  she arrived extra early to get started on time and make sure we were right on schedule.

Eden is very down-to-earth and got along with everyone in my bridal party & my family. She kept her cool till the very end and didn’t leave until I was ready to go to my ceremony.

I would definitely recommend her and use her services again!!! =)

I got scared when I saw the dye on my roots, but she talked me down, and reassured me that it would be okay. It was beautiful! I wanted drama, but it also looked natural. I get compliments constantly. One man told me I must be Irish to have beautiful red hair like I do.

So, great experience, very nice lady. Haven’t been this pleased with my hair color/style in a really long time.

After a consult with Eden, I was ready to take the leap. She talked me through everything she was doing, explained my hair situation (damage, how existing highlights would react, etc), and gave me the perfect color/cut. We started with a darkness that would be easily corrected if I decided I didn’t love it (however, I DO love it and dont want to change a thing any time soon!). Maybe I’ll even go a bit darker next time.

The best part is how natural it looks. Getting my hair done in the comfort of her home (and comfortable is an understatement) made things so much easier for me. I didn’t feel rushed, or that she was working quickly to get to her next client. When I was there, I was her only focus, and that is absolutely refreshing. I have never received as many compliments on my hair as I have in the past few days. I’ve already told all of my friends about her!
